If you were watching Nexstar’s WFLA (Tampa) Sunday morning newscast, you saw them go from news coverage to trying to get you to buy junk.

The “Epic Deals” segment is as if the Home Shopping Network hijacked the newscast.

It is also featured on WFLA’s bloated website, saying this:

“Introducing Epic Discounts! It’s new deals each week on brands you’ll love! As seen on WFLA-TV! Epic Discounts is reader-supported and WFLA may earn a commission for purchases made through the link below.”

It is so sad that Nexstar has felt the need to stoop so low.

I should point out that Nexstar isn’t the only station group doing this, but that doesn’t mean that it is right, because it certainly is not.
