WTSP (Tampa) longtime Anchor Carolina Leid has left the Tegna station.

Leid was the station’s 6 PM and 11 PM Anchor and has been working in TV news for over 25 years. She worked at WABC (NYC) before moving to Tampa.

Word is that the station offered her a new deal, but she declined.

“Seeing all the layoffs and the cutting corners (across the industry) just made me decide it’s time. Leid told FTVLive, “I’m tired of seeing hardworking journalists get kicked to the curb after dedicating their lives to this field. We sacrifice so much, missing holidays, not seeing our families, but it’s worth it to make a difference in our communities.”

Amen to that.
