Tegna’s KUSA is going to tack on an extra hour of news next month.

The station announced that starting Monday, Sept. 9, they will launch a 3 p.m. newscast. 

The new hour-long show will be anchored by Alexandra Lewis, who currently anchors 9NEWS at 9 p.m., and Sam Schacher, host and managing editor of Daily Blast Live. 

The Daily Blast Live is shutting down on September 6th.

“Being here for the people of Colorado an hour earlier allows us to provide more news and information that impacts them, especially in breaking news situations or severe weather events,” said KUSA News Director Linda Kicak. “It’s our job to show up for Coloradans, and this new 3 p.m. newscast is an additional way to do that.”
