Police Will Not Charge Former News Director/Anchor

Back in June, FTVLive told you about three Shreveport men who claimed to have caught KTBS (Shreveport) Anchor/News Director Bill Lunn trying to hook up with a 15-year-old girl that the three men were posing as online.

Lunn resigned from the station amid the controversy.

The Shreveport Police investigated the case and have said they will not be filing any charges against Lunn.

“We did investigate the case thoroughly with the Shreveport Police Vice Unit,” said Corporal Chris Bordelon with the Shreveport Police Department. “A digital forensic investigation of the evidence on the cell phone was conducted, and what we determined at this point and time is that there is not sufficient evidence to proceed with the case. And that possibly some of the initial evidence that was gathered had been altered by those persons that provided it.”

According to Corporal Bordelon, SPD’s forensic search of Lunn’s phone showed that a text message was altered, showing that the men initially told Lunn the girl was 19.

Based on the call to SPD, Corporal Bordelon says there was probable cause to investigate.

“We were called to the scene of where this incident occurred. And what the patrol officers were given was evidence. Unbeknownst to them, that evidence had been altered, and we were not able to determine that until the phones were actually downloaded and investigated by our vice unit. Thus leading us to the conclusion of this case,” he said.
