Viewers trying to watch the Olympics on KMIR (Palm Springs) saw the Games interrupted by the station’s newscast.

It pissed off enough viewers that KMIR GM Bob McCauley took to social media to try and explain what happened.

My question is, were the anchors just standing by when they flipped the switch, or was the newscast prerecorded?
