Leaving TV News to Become an Influencer
WJLA (DC) Anchor Robert Burton announced he is leaving the Sinclair station to become an influencer.
Back in November of 2023, FTVLive told you that Burton’s wife Jeanette Reyes signed off across the street at WTTG, to also become an influencer.
Now, Burton is joining the family business.
As we said about Reyes late last year, I give them both credit on deciding to be. influencers if that’s what they want to do.
I’m not sure pitching crap for Walmart or some other company is a very exciting career.
As I said in November, my opinion, and this is only my opinion, you can give more back to the community as a Journalist and make a difference as a Journalist. Pitching products will likely make you more money. But is telling people how nice these jogging shorts are really making a difference? It seems like your job is getting people to spend their money on crap that they likely don’t need.
