Nexstar’s WGN (Chicago) reports that Reporter Mike Lowe has revealed he is battling colon cancer.

In a social media post, Lowe said he was diagnosed with stage 3 colon cancer and is participating in a clinical trial with Northwestern Medicine.

He will be undergoing radiation and chemotherapy for abour six months prior to surgery. Lowe said he won’t be on-air as much during this time, but will be providing health updates on his Instagram.

Lowe notes that colon cancer is rising rapidly in younger people and how important it is to get your colonoscopy.
