Tom Skilling Un-Retiring at WGN
After decades at WGN (Chicago) Tom Skilling finally retired at the end of te Feb book.
But, after just over a month, he’s returning to Chicago’s Very Own.
Skilling is coming back to help the station report on the solar eclipse.
Skilling says the rare eclipse is “a life-altering event.” Skilling reports that Makanda, IL is the point at which the path of totality in the 2017 solar eclipse and the path of totality in Monday’s solar eclipse cross. This, Skilling says, happens once every 375 years.
in 2017’s eclipse Skilling was emtional. “I broke down during the last eclipse,” he said. “I didn’t expect to react that way. This is a sensory extravaganza.
