You may remember that Scripps announced that two Anchors at their flagship station would be exited from the station.

Morning Anchor Kristen Swilley is leaving the station, but she is not one of those two.

Swilley says she made the decision to leave WCPO “on my own terms at the end of last year, unrelated to the impending layoffs.”

WCPO GM Jeff Brogan told WVXU that Swilley’s position will be filled, and it doesn’t count as one of the two news anchors to be eliminated under Brogan’s newsroom restructuring plan.

Okay, let’s unpack this a bit.

WCPO’s GM has basically said that two of the station's anchors are getting kicked to the curb.

Here we have an Anchor who is leaving that is not one of the two. Brogan says that he is looking to fill that position.

Ummmm….why not fill the job with one of the two Anchors you want to cut? Then you'd only need to make one cut.

This isn’t rocket science.
