Is This Even Legal?

The Firm’s KCPQ (Seattle) pays their Producers very little for such a big city.

But now, according to an internal memo obtained by FTVLive, they are amking the job even worse.

The internal memo sent to Producers tells them that the Fox O&O is putting Producers on a “on call” list on weekends.

So, they ask the “on-call” Producer to be available if needed. No weekend getaways or making firm plans, as they will be required to report to the station at a moment’s notice.

Oh! And get this….if the Producer is tasked with coming to work on the weekend, they won’t be paid any money. They’ll get a comp day instead.

FTVLive has also obtained a copy of the first on-call list and not a single Executive Producer is on the list. It’s just the Senior Producer and line Producers.

Why isn’t management required to do the same?

Also, if you are requiring someone to be on call, don’t you have to compensate them, legally?

Here’s the on-call list obtained by FTVLive.
