Gone in Ft. Myers?
Back on March 12th, in a Patron Only story, FTVLive told you how WINK Investigative Reporter Celine McArthur did a number of stories on a local builder.
Turns out the builder has been very slow to live up to a promise made to a hurricane victim and McArthur’s feel good story, went south pretty quickly.
WINK sent her to do a follow-up, and in the station’s web-posted story, WINK added this disclaimer.
Quoting a portion of the Patroin story we posted, FTVLive wrote:
“The Reporter on the story got free drywall from the guy she was doing reports on?
Well, Wink says in their disclaimer that it was "McArthur's husband's" home that got the free work.
Does McArthur not live with her husband? Isn't this her home as well? Also, who "attempted to compensate him"...was in WINK? McArthur? Her husband?
Word is that this disclaimer was on the web version but was not aired during the newscast.
But here's the next big question.
If this Reporter (or her husband) got free work from the builder, why the hell is she back covering the follow-up to the story?”
We then wrote, “Lastly, how is this Reporter still employed?”
Well, it appears that Celine McArthur’s picture is missing from WINK’s “meet the team” page, but we still found her bio posted on the WINK website.
So, has she been exited from the station? Looking at the team page, it sure looks that way, but then again, maybe not.
Or, maybe she took time off to go over to her husband’s house and admire his free drywall?
