Look Who Retuned to TV News at Tegna's Tampa Station
Former WDBJ (Roanoke) Anchor Chris Hurst has returned to TV News.
Back in 2015, Hurst was dating Reporter Allison Parker, who was killed while reporting live, along with Photographer Adam Ward.
Hurst used that fame to turn his career to politics, serving two terms in Virginia's House of Delegates.
A drunk driving incident in which he was not charged and an election night prank where he was caught removing his opponent's campaign signs with his girlfriend pretty much doomed his campaign.
He’s now back in TV news, working as a Reporter at Tegna’s WTSP in Tampa.
Reading his station bio, which he wrote, he mentions the Killing of Parker but makes it more about him.
He writes, “It’s hard to tell my story without mentioning the on-air shooting at WDBJ in 2015, which killed my then-girlfriend and morning reporter, Alison Parker, as well as her photographer, Adam Ward. I came back on the air soon after and helped guide the community through its collective grief and was recognized for my admirable openness in the aftermath, including being named Roanoker of the Year by Roanoker Magazine.”
