You may remember that WCPO (Cincy) Chief Meteorologist Steve Raleigh and some of his family members were involved in a traffic incident in which an elderly couple was left beaten.

The Raleigh family has strong ties to local law enforcement, and the case was kicked around for quite some time.

Steve Raleigh was not charged in the incident, and is still working at WCPO; his son Kyle was charged with three felonies in the case.

Yesterday, Kyle Raleigh was in court, and after cutting a deal, he pleaded guilty to two misdemeanor assault charges. 

According to court documents, Kyle was "under the influence of sudden passion or in a sudden fit of rage" when he used "deadly force" in the assault of Lois and Douglas Morrow.

Yet, somehow, that is just a misdemeanor or two.

Sentencing for Kyle is set for January 15.
