Pittsburgh Ground Zero for Political Ads
If you work at a Pittsburgh station and your boss tells you they can’t afford to give you a raise, just scream, “BULLSHIT!”
Pittsburgh viewers have seen more political ads than any other market in the country. More than 2,000 ads have been served to the viewers in the Burgh. And that’s just on TV.
Last week durning Monday Night Football, WTAE was charging $150,000 bucks for a political ad, and they aired 26 ads in total.
I can say that during the entire election year, I have seen 0 political ads for President and just 1 ad for a local race. That one ad happened when I looked up at a TV at the gym.
My neighbor who watched Fox News all day long, said, “just 2 more days and this will all be over.”
As someone that cut the cord over a decade ago, I have not dealt with the onslaught of political ads, and I can assure you, my mental health is much better because of it.
I feel for the people in Pittsburgh.
As for the Pittsburgh newsies, believe me, the station can afford to pay you more money.
