While the marketing people were the biggest part of the cuts, there were more. All the marketing people at all the Tegna stations were cut.

At least two stations cut weekend meteorologists and weather will be recorded from another Tegna station. Not sure how they will handle severe weather?

We’re told that there were cuts in sports and sales at several stations. Entire production departments were eliminated at select stations that are slated to switch to automation.

We also heard that some Producers and Photographers lost their jobs.

“Many were notified that their job was eliminated through a phone call”, said a source to FTVLive. Others find out through the grapevine.

Cuts are always bad, poorly done cuts are even worse.
