KPHO/KTVK Photographer Samuel Mena Jr attended a protest in Washington, D.C. on Saturday.

The protest was a pro-Palestine demonstration.

According to D.C. Metropolitan Police, just before 6 PM, Mena lit his arm on fire as part of the protest.

Police were able to quickly put out the fire and Mena was taken to the hospital.

KTVK/KPHO said that Mena was off-duty and not in Washington, D.C. on station business. The station added, that it "expect its newsroom employees to conduct themselves with neutrality and objectivity".

Apparently, Mena is no longer employed by the station.
