Sources tell FTVLive that over at Nexstar’s The Hill, Editor-in-Chief Bob Cusack’s contract is coming up and staffers are worried that Nexstar might not renew it.

One source tells FTVLive that Cusack has even been seen cleaning out parts of his office.

Many staffers are upset about the prospect of him leaving. Cusack has been with The Hill since 2014, long before Nexstar bought it.

With Nexstar, you would think this is about money, and that might be partly the reason if he goes. But, as one staffer told FTVLive, “I don’t think it has anything to do with money as much as it does direction. Bob is known for driving The Hill’s non-partisan mission, and staff is increasingly extremely concerned that Nexstar is looking to oust him and meddle with our unbiased coverage.”

Another staffer added, “In a time of hyper-partisanship, he has kept the newsroom right down the middle, as other outlets have noted.”

Will have to wait and see what Nexstar does, but if they don’t renew him, there will be many staffers who are pissed.
