WBND (South Bend) announced the sad news that their anchor, Jennifer Copeland, passed away at just 46 years old.

Copeland was diagnosed with cancer earlier this year. She lost that fight on Friday.

Before coming to ABC 57, Copeland had stops at WSBT as a reporter here in South Bend before working in Champaign, Ill., Charlotte, N.C., and Minneapolis, Minn.

She came back to WSBT in 2012 and joined WBND last year.

The Weigel station has a story posted on their webpage, which, sadly, they run a preroll ad on. You would think that a station would not try and make money off the death of its anchor, but these are the times we now live in.
