While TV stations continue to say that sales are soft and advertisers are not buying, YouTube saw its advertising revenue soar to $9.2 billion in Q4 of 2023.
TV stations continue to try and do things just as they always have, and they can’t understand why the money isn’t flowing in.
TV news could bring in big ad dollars for stations if stations would stop thinking like it is 1995.
It is time for local TV to think differently.
Scripps is trying, but their answer is to cut costs and put on an inferior product. That’s not going to work.
It can be done, and local stations could print money with their news departments. You just need bosses who can think outside the box and have a real vision.
