I have to give Scripps CEO Adam Symson a bit of credit.

in his latest email to the staff, he did take a few small bites of humble pie when talking about the company’s move to the new “news initiative.”

Scripps laid off a lot of good, experienced people last year as it tries to do news on the cheap.

FTVLive has heard from many Scripps employees (and now, former Scripps employees) that still don’t understand what the mission is, other than to save the company a boatload of cash.

In his email, obtained by FTVLive, Symson addressed how they handled the situation.

He said:

While more could (should) have been said, this is about as close as a “I fucked up” you’re going to get from a media CEO.

For that, I have to give him some credit.
