Out the Door in Albany
After 4 years at Nexstar’s WTEN (Albany), morning Meteorologist Jill Szwed announced she is leaving the station.
She is headed to Hearst-owned WTAE, in her hometown of Pittsburgh.
She posted this to her IG:
I pinch myself everyday that I get to do what I love. I’ve worked with some wonderful people and in welcoming communities along the way. I keep dreaming that someday my job will take me home.
That someday has come! I am excited to announce I have accepted a position on the weather team at @wtaetv. It is incredibly humbling to know that I will be serving the community that I grew up in and a part of a rockstar weather team.
At the same time it is bittersweet to leave the Capital Region. My last day at @news10abc will be January 26th. I am so grateful for the opportunity to have worked on the best morning and weather teams in the area. Thank you to my bosses at News10 for taking a chance on me. More importantly, thank you to our viewers for trusting me with the forecast every morning. It has been an honor ❤️
There is no place like home, but I’ll carry a piece of the Capital Region with me always.
