No More Morning WOOD
After 30 years at the station, longtime WOOD-TV (Grand Rapids) morning Meteorologist Terri Deboer announced she is leaving the station today and leaving TV news altogether.
Deboer plans on launching her own publishing company, professional coaching and spending more time with her family.
“My retirement from broadcasting will allow me to spend more time with my family; especially my aging parents and my sweet grandsons,” Deboer said. “Time goes by so fast!”
After moving to West Michigan in 1990, DeBoer began working toward an additional degree in meteorology and she began forecasting West Michigan’s weather in 1992.
“I always loved nature and the environment and had been fascinated with the weather since I was a little girl,” she said. “And it seemed like the meteorologists at my television stations had the very best jobs, so I dedicated myself to becoming a meteorologist.”
