The Deuce Is Bumped Up
I saw this press release from WBTV in Charlotte.
Here is a portion of the release with some of my thoughts on the backside.
WBTV promotes Jason Stevens to News Director. Jason has been with WBTV since July of 2022 in the Assistant News Director role. He will be replacing Molly Kelleher who will be moving on to Gray Television’s KCTV in Kansas City as Assistant News Director.
“Jason has been a true leader in the WBTV newsroom and has helped elevate our newscasts, lead the competition on breaking news coverage and solutions-based journalism. I’m excited to have him as our next newsroom champion,” said Michelle Robinson Harper, Vice President and General Manager of WBTV.
He is a fan of classic sci-fi movies, hiking and spending time with his family exploring the Carolinas. Jason will begin his new role as News Director at WBTV on Monday, September 18th.
Right now, the guy is the Assistant News Director at the station. So why doesn’t he begin his new job as ND today?
Why is the station waiting a week before he takes over his new job?
Because that way, Gray can pay him one more week as the Deuce before giving him his News Director salary.
