Gray’s KPHO/KTVK hired Mickaela Castillo as a new Reporter at the station.

Castillo posted about her first day on air at the station. It was not a selfie or a dance video, nor was she melting ice in the parking lot. Castillo’s post was promoting the story that she covered about a big teacher shortage.

WOW! A TV News Reporter posting a tweet with actual news! How refreshing is that?

In fact, scrolling through Castillo’s Twitter, I saw just two selfies and a lot of links to actual news stories.

I guess it can be done.

Good for her, and I hope she continues to use social media to give viewers the news.

I know it’s a radical idea.
