ABC O&O's to add 10AM Newscasts
The ABC Owned Television Stations has announced a shakeup to its programming and adds another newscast.
Beginning on September 11, residents of New York, Philadelphia, and Raleigh-Durham will be greeted with a brand-new 10 a.m. newscast, replacing the slot previously occupied by the Tamron Hall show.
The Tamron Hall show is moving to the 2 p.m. time slot in these markets.
Chad Matthews, the President of ABC Owned Television Stations, expressed his optimism about the forthcoming changes. "Tamron has had an exceptional year, and I know this move will grow her incredibly passionate Tam Fam even more," Matthews stated. He highlighted the significance of the addition of local news programming at 10 a.m., emphasizing that the newscast would allow the network to delve deeper into local topics and events that hold significance for the communities they serve. The 10 a.m. news segment will also extend and amplify discussions on breaking news and topics featured on shows like "Good Morning America" and "Live with Kelly and Mark."
