MSNBC Wins the Indictment Ratings

When former President Donald Trump was indicted for the 4th time, viewers tuned to MSNBC for the latest news on Trump’s legal woes.

MSNBC drew 3.1 million total viewers in prime (vs. CNN’s 1.2M and FOX News’ 2.2M) and 415K viewers A25-54 (vs. CNN’s 232K and FOX News’ 254K), making it the network’s most-watched night of 2023 among both total viewers and A25-54. 

MSNBC’s 9pm hour, which featured an exclusive one-on-one interview with former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, was #1 across all of television (ahead of #3 CBS, #4 ABC, and #5 FOX News; CNN #9). The 9pm hour was also the #1 cable news program in both A25-54 and total viewers on Monday. “The Rachel Maddow Show” tripled CNN’s total viewers with 3.9M (vs. CNN’s 1.25M vs. FOX News’ 2.4M), and doubled CNN’s demo audience with 538K A25-54 viewers (vs. CNN’s 255K vs. FOX News’ 285K).
