Another Out the Door in Albany *
WTEN’s (Albany) Mikhaela Singleton has announced her departure from the station. She joins WROC in Rochester as a morning anchor.
Singleton, who joined WTEN in the Fall of 2019, shared the news of her transition on social media. "It's time I officially announce I will be leaving WTEN by the end of this month," Singleton wrote in a heartfelt post. She expressed her gratitude for the incredible experiences she had while reporting from the Capital Region, from forging friendships to having the privilege of sharing the community's stories.
Having initially joined WTEN as a reporter, Singleton's versatile skills quickly earned her roles as a weekend anchor and a weekday fill-in when required. Prior to her tenure with Nexstar-owned WTEN, Singleton honed her craft in Georgia, showcasing her dedication to journalism.
Although Singleton's time at WTEN is coming to a close, viewers can still catch her on-air through August as she bids her final farewell to the Capital Region. Her departure marks the eighth on-air journalist to leave a Capital Region station this year alone. Among the notable departures are Nick Reisman, who parted ways with Spectrum News after over a decade, and Ashley Miller, who left WNYT/NewsChannel13. While Reisman remains in the industry, Miller has transitioned to a role with North Colonie schools.
