Many would agree that the 2024 election is the most important election of our lifetime.

So, with that being said, as Journalists, you would hope that voters have as much information about the candidates before they cast their vote.

You would think….

But, reports say that Fox News is threatening legal action against unaffiliated media outlets that reuse more than three minutes of excerpts from an upcoming GOP debate in the seven days following its broadcast on Fox.

Why would a media outlet try and curtail the information to the voting public?

Are your ratings really more critical than the democracy of our country?

Shame on Fox News.

Update: Fox News did reach out to FTVLive to say that their debate re-broadcast rules have not changed in years. They also pointed out that they are not curtailing clip use by legit media outlets. Of course, most of this will be moot if Trump doesn’t show up to the debate. At that point the ratings will be low and the interest will not be there.
