After Laying Off People, Scripps is Now Looking to Hire

FTVLive has been telling you about the layoffs at Scripps stations across the country.

Now, the company is hiring.

Internally, Scripps called the layoffs a “reorganization” or “adjustments” as they sacked people. It Ft. Myers for example, Scripps sacked most of the Photographers and Editors.

Now, the company is posting jobs for MMJ’s at a number of stations. A Scripps recruiter posted this to linked in.

The News Director at KRIS (Corpus Christi) wants you to know that these jobs pay “great.”

WTKR (Norfolk) General Manager Adam Chase says his station is hiring after “adjustments” were made.

Not all Scripps employees are happy to see this. “We fired hardworking people so we can bump pay for new hires…” said one Scripps insider to FTVLive.

FTVLive does wonder if the Photographers that were sacked offered the opportunity to become MMJ’s?

Time will tell if this “adjustment” is really helping the product, or just shuffling the deck chairs on the Titanic.
