Longtime KXAN (Austin) Jim Spencer was arrested for DWI early in the morning yesterday.

Spencer, who has been with the station for over 3 decades, was arrested by Austin Police and taken to the Travis County Jail, and booked shortly after 1:30 AM.

Spencer who is the “Senior Forecaster” for the Nexstar station, announced his semi-retirement from the station back in 2021.

Searching the station’s website, we could not find any mention of his arrest.

Jail records show that bond was set at $3000 bucks.
