Nexstar Should be Embarrassed
Nexstar’s KGET (Bakersfield) posted a job opening that reads like a parody of Journalism.
The job pays $16.82 an hour and is entry-level.
You might be thinking it is an Associate Producer or Writer job, but it’s not.
The station is looking for an entry-level Weekend Anchor.
So before you run out and take that job at McDonald’s for $17 an hour, for a few pennies left, you could be anchoring the news in California.
But, wait! Along with anchoring the weekend news, you also be doing the weather forecast and also producing the late newscast.
But there’s more! 3 days a week, you will be shooting, writing, editing, and posting the internet as an MMJ.
So hurry now kids, and apply!
To recap, you will anchor, do the weather, produce, report, shoot, edit, and work on digital, all for nearly $17 bucks an hour.
You do the jobs of 7 people for $17 bucks!
Or, you could go make french fries for the same pay.
You decide.
Oh! By the way, the boss at Nexstar, he made $40 million bucks last year.
WXIA (Atlanta) Reporter Savannah Levins found a number of jobs that pay better.
