Word is that Scripps executives are holding and all-hands-on-deck meeting this week to discuss the company’s reorganization plans.

While the suits are calling it a “reorganization,” the staff is calling it layoffs.

Scripps is expected to let people go and fill news holes at many of their stations with the newly launched “Scripps News.”

It sounds like Scripps is taking a page out of the Sinclair playbook. Sinclair canceled newscasts at many stations and filled the times with “The National Desk.”

It’s news on the cheap and another nail in the coffin for real journalism.
