Look Who's Gone In Tulsa...
Last week, FTVLive told you how KTUL MMJ Sam Gelfand celebrated his first year working in TV news and at the Sinclair station.
In a social media post, Gelfand referred to himself nearly 30 times, which has to be some sort of record.
A couple of weeks before that, Gelfand hoisted himself up on a number of bodies from a mass shooting for a story that he said you must go out of your way to watch. To say it was a bit cringe might be an understatement.
Well, it now appears that Sam Gelfand will not be posting about his second year at KTUL, as he is now gone from the station, and his bio has been scrubbed from the station’s website.
The staff has been told by management not to talk about it.
Gelfand did not mention his parting from KTUL on his Twitter other than to list himself as an Fmr. KTUL Reporter in his bio.
“Hopefully, this humbles him a bit. This business is not supposed to be about our ego but telling other people’s stories. Maybe he’s learned that, likely not,” said a KTUL insider to FTVLive.
I’m not sure that Gelfand is cut out for TV news, but as this business continues to struggle to fill open positions, someone will hire him. Maybe a Tegna station.
Stay tuned…
