Gone in Waco
Sources tell FTVLive that Tegna’s KCEN (Waco) has parted ways with longtime Chief Met Andy Andersen after 25 years.
A station insider tells FTVLive that KCEN management finally addressed Andersen’s absence during the newscast after viewers questioned where he was.
By that time, Anderson had been off the air for nearly a week.
The source says that KCEN stated, “Andersen is no longer with 6news” because it would be “false to say he retired because he didn’t.”
“The only reason I’m speaking out is because what they did to a man that showed extreme dedication and loyalty to that station is wrong. He’s a legend in Central Texas and they got rid of him,” said the station insider to FTVLive.
Andersen’s joined the station in 1988; his bio is gone from the station’s website.
