You know it is a ratings book when the anchor health stories start.

WHO’s (Des Moines) Anchor Calyn Thompson was diagnosed with breast cancer late last year.

Now that the May book is here, she has decided to talk about it.

Why is it that we only hear about talent’s cancer battle, alcoholism, depression, or other medical problems during the ratings?

If this story helps someone, then good for WHO. But, thousands of women are battling breast cancer everyday in the Des Monies area. Why not tell their story, or does it have to be someone on TV?
