That's Low

I saw a story in which Scripps-owned WKBW (Buffalo) and the NABET union agreed on a new contract.

It’s always good to see two sides come together on an agreement, but then I saw that union president Roy Schrodt said the contract gives multimedia journalists (MMJs), who used to be called reporters, a minimum salary of $33,800 a year and they are guaranteed to make $2 more an hour than minimum wage. Producers have a minimum of $36,000. He explained producers have a higher minimum because they are more difficult to retain.

Don’t these salaries seem low to you?

I know Buffalo has fallen out of the top 50, but still, $36,000 for a Producer?

If you’re a Producer that is good at your job, you should be making a heck of a lot more than $36 grand.

Just saying…
