Yeah, But....

When you listen to managers at TV stations, they often talk about how important the morning newscasts are and that they are just as important “if not more” than the evening newscasts.

While they may want you to believe that, and maybe some of you do, let me ask you this. Do you think the morning anchors at your station are paid equally or more than the evening anchors?

Also, let’s look at WVEC in Norfolk.

The station’s longtime Anchor, David Alan is retiring. The station announced that morning anchor Dan Kennedy is being promoted to the evening shows.

If the morning was just as important as the evening, why would you move the morning anchor to the evening?

Kennedy said this on air while announing his move to the evening. "As you may have heard, David Alan is retiring after 23 incredible years as evening anchor on 13News Now. And starting May 29th, I have the distinct honor of stepping into that role," he said. "It is my promise to you that we will continue to report the news nightly with facts and fairness, with honesty and empathy."

Do they not do that in the mornings?

Just asking…
