The Golden Goose Moves to ICU
TV stations have relied on padding their wallets by reaching their hands into viewers’ pockets each time the retransmission agreement came up with a cable or satellite company.
Despite stations not offering the viewers anything more, they have demanded that cable and satellite companies continue to pay them more money for each viewer that subscribes to the service.
Viewers have watched their cable bills go up dramatically, and many have said enough is enough.
Now, a new survey shows that cord-cutting has hit an all-time high. Subscriptions have not been this low since 1992.
Viewers are cutting the cord, yet media companies continue asking for more money, driving the bills even higher.
Everyone, except the media companies, can see where this is headed as they continue to kill what was once their golden goose.
Greed is to blame.
