Cops Bust Texas Anchor
An Anchor for Sinclair’s KFOX (El Paso) was busted for driving her Jeep across a man’s lawn and up onto the porch.
Police busted KFOX Anchor Erika Castillo after video showed her driving over the lawn and up onto the steps of a home.
The victim told cops that is is involved in an ongoing civil dispute with Shawn Bryan, Erika’s husband, over funds from a business dealing.
As Erika “Castillo” Bryan drove onto the property, she was told that the man she was looking for was not home. The Anchor allegedly began yelling that the victim was stealing money from her husband.
Police reviewed the Ring footage and verified the vehicle was registered to her husband Shawn Bryan. The police report states the distance between the area she drove the Jeep onto the lawn and the street is 37 feet. Cops said they indetified the woman in the video as the KFOX Anchor.
Text messages were also provided to police showing Castillo texting the victim that she “need our title that you owe us ASAP and that’s why I was there and I need them ASAP.” She later allegedly wrote, “We will get the step repaired. I sorry [sic] but I told you last week I park as close as possible because it is so steep and I was in a hurry.”
What’s interesting, the incident allegedly occurred in June 2021, charges were not filed in County Court until April 16, 2023.
The Anchor turned herself into the El Paso Police Department’s fast-tracking unit overnight and was booked on a misdemeanor criminal mischief charge and released on a $2,000 personal recognizance bond.
When reached for comment, KFOX management released the following statement: “We are aware of the situation and are assessing the matter internally. We do not have any further comment at this time.”
We have not seen any coverage from KFOX on the arrest of their Anchor.
Across the street, Nexstar’s KTSM did cover the story.
