Photographer in Critical Condition After Being Hit By a Truck
A Salt Lake City News Photographer was critically injured while working on a story.
The journalist was hit by a pickup truck at the mouth of Little Cottonwood Canyon on Thursday.
Sandy police say the Photog entered the roadway in the intersection between state Route 210 and state Route 209 just before he was hit by the truck.
"(The driver) was making a left-hand turn from S.R. 209, which is Little Cottonwood Road to Cottonwood Canyon Road," Sandy Police Sgt. Greg Moffitt said. "We're not sure exactly what happened, but he obviously didn't see the pedestrian and ended up striking that pedestrian as he was in the roadway."
Video from the scene shows a broken TV camera in the middle of the roadway.
The photojournalist, who has yet to be identified, was taken to a hospital in critical condition with head trauma, Moffitt said.
