A viewer of WSMV (Nashville) took time out from watching the newscast to call the station and complain that the Weatherman was wearing lipstick.

He was not.

Poor Brenda might be surprised that many of the male anchors she watched are in fact wearing makeup. Although, like Medina, most are not wearing lipstick.

You got to love those viewer calls.

I remember one time, I was in the newsroom around 2AM after shooting some spot news. A viewer called and wanted to speak to the station’s main anchor.

I told the lady that the anchor wasn’t there and was likely home sleeping. The lady started screaming at me calling me a liar, because she was watching the anchor on her TV as we were speaking.

I tried to explain that was a rerun of the 10:00 newscast.

She didn’t believe me and continued to yell while I listened. I then finally said, “mam, you’re right, let me put on hold while I go get Bob in the studio and tell him you’re on the phone for him.”

I then placed her nicely on hold, walked outside, got in my car and drove home and went to bed.
