No Deal...

It appears that more and more stations are starting to sell products during the newscasts.

According to one FTVLive reader, the CBS O&O’s have now starting shilling goods in the newscast.

The viewer writes:

It appears CBS Deals (CBSD) is now the latest gig at CBS O/O during their newscast.  It’s also part of CBS Morning broadcasts Monday - Saturday.  I sense the on air talent aren’t thrilled.  Sneaky way to slide in an extra commercial.  Especially when they go from a  CBSD to a commercial.

I just watched a CBSD on WBZ Boston.  A cooktop air fryer alternative.

A terrible way to cheapen a newscast.  Is the CBS Evening News next?  Nora hawking a set of knives?

Stations that are doing this are cheapening their product all in an effort to make a few dollars. Put on a quality newscast and viewers will watch. Higher ratings mean you can sell ads for more money. That way, you don’t need to whore yourself out during the news.

Be Better.
