"Retiring" In Milwaukee

As Scripps has been eliminating anchor jobs across their stations, they have told the anchors that they can choose how they want to announce their exit.

Some anchors are telling viewers they are moving on to a new adventure; others are calling it a retirement, and some are being honest and saying their job was eliminated.

Longtime WTMJ Anchor Carole Meekins announced that she is leaving the station to “spend more time with her family.”

Is Meekins retiring on her own, or is she being pushed?

Since Scripps is allowing talent to play loose with the facts, we don’t know if this is really a retirement or not.

Sadly, it has come to this, but this is now how Scripps operates. Not exactly the pillar of journalism.
