A story on TV News Check reported that KXLY (Spokane) had promoted Morning Anchor Derek Deis to the evening Anchor job.

The story stated that Deis “will join Kirstin O’Connor on 4 News Now at 5, 6, and Nightside.”

What the story failed to mention is that Deis is married to KXLY News Director Melissa Luck.

Luck has been outspoken about quality of life and about taking time off. Moving from the morning shift to the evening shift means a lot of family dynamics change.

It seems that the marriage should have been included in the story.
