You Should Be Embarrassed

Now that the law went into effect in New York, we can see just how poorly Nexstar is paying people.

The NY law went into effect in the middle of September; it requires companies to list the salary range of jobs they are posting.

WIVB (Buffalo) has an MMJ job open, in which the person will be both the Reporter and the Photographer.

It pays $17.75 - 18.75 an hour.

I was a Stringer at WKBW in Buffalo in the 80’s, and I made more than that.

A Meteorologist job at WETM, the Nexstar station in Elmira, is paying just $15 an hour.

A Reporter job at their Syracuse station pays $17-20 an hour.

The McDonald’s near my house is offering better pay, and the fact that Nexstar seems to not care over their embarrassing low pay tells you a lot.

Also, Nexstar CEO Perry Sook makes $18,750 an hour.

Let that one sink in a bit.
