Gadi Schwartz, known for his work on NBC News' Snapchat show, will be getting his own streaming hour on the free, ad-supported NBC News Now streaming service. According to Janelle Rodriguez, the senior vice president of NBC News, Schwartz will anchor an 8 p.m. newscast from Los Angeles.

Schwartz has been co-anchoring "Stay Tuned" on Snapchat for the past five years and has gained a following among a younger audience. In addition to his work on Snapchat, Schwartz has also covered a range of important issues as a correspondent for NBC News since 2016, including the immigration crisis at the border.

As traditional TV news organizations look to reach viewers through streaming content, they are creating a range of new evening programs for streaming audiences. These programs, which are not constrained by time limits or commercial breaks, allow for in-depth conversations on hot stories and trending topics and provide a more comprehensive look at the work of network news divisions.

Schwartz joined NBC News from KNBC in Los Angeles in 2016, after working for ten years at KOB in Albuquerque, where he was a weekend news anchor and investigative reporter.
