More Time with the Family....
On Friday, CNN national correspondent Suzanne Malveaux announced that she will be departing the network to spend more time with her family and pursue new professional passions. Malveaux has been with CNN for over 20 years and has held various roles at the network, including anchor and White House correspondent.
In a note to her colleagues, Malveaux wrote, "I’ve made the heartfelt decision to put myself and my family first and to pursue my long-desired professional passions: using storytelling to promote wellness, resiliency and social justice.” She also mentioned that she will be collaborating with a great grandson of Nelson Mandela on a project "to tell stories and spotlight communities in conflict poised to find peace."
Malveaux's partner is White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre, and after Jean-Pierre was appointed to this role, Malveaux shifted her focus away from politics, the White House, and Capitol Hill.
A CNN spokesperson said in a statement, "Throughout Suzanne’s 20-year career at CNN, she has brought historic interviews to our audiences, broken news from around the world and mentored countless journalists across multiple bureaus. We are excited for her and her next chapter and wish her all the best."
