Take a look at tonight's episode of ABC World News Tonight with David Muir. I heard the phrase, "doctors say the next 48 hours will be critical" three times in regards to the Damar Hamlin story. In one instance, the reporter said it, and then a doctor said it right after in a SOT. Is this really where their writing is at? Is this a consultant thing? Do they think that their audience is so dumb and distracted that they need things repeated and then repeated again? Or, do their producers not know how to write? As a former producer, if I wrote a VOSOT where a SOT said something that was in the lead-in VO before, I would have gotten yelled at. Their newscast just seems very formulaic - like they're trying to hit all the key words.. and I don't like it. Watching Nightly instead next time.

They aren’t journalists. They are narcissists.
They don’t post ‘selfies.’
They post ‘narcies.’
They don’t post news.
They pimp product.
They don’t know any better. And they are replacing managers who know better.
We are fucked. Game over.
