Well, That Conspiracy Theory is Shot to Hell
I watched for days as a number of those on the right, including Journalists, tried to say that Buffalo Bills Safety Damar Hamlin was dead, or at the very least was in such bad shape he could not talk or communicate.
As you know, Hamlin was seriously hurt while making a tackle in the Bills-Bengals game. His heart stopped beating, and he was brought back to life and taken to a Cincy hospital in critical condition.
Hamlin made a remarkable recovery and was released from the hospital within days.
But, former NewsMax White House Correspondent Emerald Robinson implied that Hamlin was dead or incapacitated due to the fact that he got the COVID vaccine, and that is what took him down on the field.
She claimed that the NFL was lying about Hamlin’s condition and wondered why he wasn’t doing any interviews.
When Hamlin showed up at the Bills playoff game all bundled up (it’s cold in Buffalo in the Winter) and not showing his face, many on Twitter claimed it wasn’t him.
Robinson chimed in as well.
Damar Hamlin almost died; the fact that he wasn’t talking on your timetable doesn’t mean anything.
If you were on death’s door laying on a field with no heartbeat, maybe you might not feel like taking about it right away, either. Perhaps you need to process how your life has drastically changed.
#Damar was trending for days on social media as many on the right continued to claim he was really dead, and the NFL and CBS, and other media outlets were covering it all up.
But, then, something changed.
Damar Hamlin decided that it was time for him to speak. He posted a video on Instagram in which he walks into a room, throws his jacket over a chair, and sits and talks very eloquently about what he just went through.
And just like that, those dumb fucks pushing the “Damar is dead” conspiracies went silent on social media.
This is the problem with social media. People spread this crap, the voice gets louder, and people get sucked in.
As for Damar Hamlin…..you, my friend, are an inspiration, and the world needs more people like you and fewer people like Emerald Robinson. A woman that pretended to be a Journalist and was really just a clown.
Go Bills!
