Did Union Cave to Gray/WOIO Management?
FTVLive has been telling you about the ongoing union negotiations between Gray’s WOIO (Cleveland) and the NABET union.
It appears that the two sides have come to an agreement and in reading the “tentative agreement” I would chalk this up to a win for Gray management.
Supposedly, one of the big sticking points was the company wanted to have MMJ’s do solo live shots. This despite the fact that MMJ safety has been a big discussion across the country in newsrooms.
Union members told FTVLive that they were not going to bend on this issue, but it appears they did just that.
FTVLive obtained a copy of the tentative agreement:
Not all union members are happy. “This begs the question...who is NABET working for?” said one union member to FTVLive, “They're giving the company everything they want and hanging the membership out to dry. The fact the union rep Eric Seggi even came back to the employees with this is insulting,” the member added.
The union members will get the Gray bonuses that are being paid to all other employees, but other than that, it appears they gave up a lot.
